Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, future Forza Horizon alternative

KT Racing (Kylotonn) lead game designer Guillaume Guinet explains the French studio’s vision for the new Test Drive Unlimited: “This is a very special game. You know, it’s a racing game like no other, it’s not about racing. It’s about the experience of the car. There are different landscapes in our game in the Hong Kong Islands, a lot of different landscapes, and each landscape has something special. You can drive on the road, on gravel, on grass, and each car has something to say about different surfaces. But there is a special car for every situation.”

Guillaume Guinet also details the essence of the gameplay: “The Sun Crown is organizing a tournament on Hong Kong Island, and this is a special competition. Players will get real experience during the event against other opponents. There are two aspects of the competition in the game: one of them is the official Solar Crown event. This is a PvP competition, and the other is about lifestyle, clans. You will join the Streets or the Sharps and they will go head to head. You are among them and you have to choose one of the sides and fight for it. In the game they are rivals, but they are united by a common passion, namely the love for their cars. Your cars are part of your personality and you can customize them however you want.”
