The Day Before is delayed again… due to trademark dispute
The Day Before brand is not owned by Fntastic.
Announced on June 21, 2022, Russian studio Fntastic’s The Day Before was set to finally arrive next March on PC and later this year on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S before being delayed again several times. aim for release by November 10, 2023. If the first report was related to the change of the graphics engine, then the second one is quite funny:
Steam blocked the official page of our game at the request of a person because of the name The Day Before. At the time of our announcement, The Day Before brand was available from the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). Following the announcement, the above person filed a petition with us to trademark The Day Before in the United States.

Singapore publisher MyTona adds:
Previously, we were not aware of any complaints about The Day Before brand. We only found out about this on January 19, 2023, after receiving a complaint from Sun Jae Lee and asking us to contact him. Now we find out all the circumstances of the incident and fully intend to reveal everything. We planned to release a lengthy gameplay video later this month, but we need to fix this first. We will post the video as soon as possible after consultation with our lawyers.
Heavily inspired by Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, to the point of using the same font, and Ubisoft’s The Division, The Day Before could change its name if a settlement isn’t reached quickly.
