This weekend, try out Unpluq, WeatherMind, Shopminders, and other applications

Once more, it’s the weekend, and you know what that entails! Another installment of our Apps of the Week compilation is now available. We’ve got some excellent recommendations for you this week, including an app that will help you stop using apps (oh, the irony), a weather app for mental health, and a shopping list app with a twist. And as always, we’ve chosen a great new game for you to play.

Unpluq: Reduce Screen Time

Here is an app that claims to be able to help you cut back on your app usage. Notwithstanding the irony, Unpluq claims that it can reduce your daily screen usage by more than 78 minutes. Although though Apple already offers a free app to track your screen usage, this goes a step further by actually limiting the (unproductive) apps you use the most frequently at certain times. If you had an extra hour and a half each day, what would you do? Become a cook? Read on. Possibly not, but you have to admit that the concept is romantic.

WeatherMind: Health & Forecast

Did you realize that the environment can impact your mental health and mood? This explains why rainy, dreary weather is seen as “gloomy,” and why everyone looks forward to summer. By fusing personalized forecasts with self-evaluation and blogging, the app WeatherMind attempts to help you better understand how the weather affects your health. Also, it includes information on breathing techniques, extensive statistics, allergies, and much more. What a novel concept!

Shopminders

Although I doubt there was much need for another shopping list software, Shopminders believes it has what it takes to compete in the oversaturated industry. Simply organize the items you frequently purchase into lists, and the app will notify you when it’s time to replenish one of them. It works better for recurring shopping lists than it does for one-off trips to the grocery store. You may share and assign shopminders to friends and family, and there are a ton of organizational capabilities available. It is sort of persuading, right?

Rytmos

In the soothing puzzle game Rytmos, you can make music by resolving puzzles. As you explore several planets, you solve challenges to unlock new musical instruments and listen to fresh music. The game itself doesn’t really have all that much else to it; you simply sort of have to see it to comprehend it. The game is demonstrated in a fantastic demo video in the App Store. Simply put, it seems like a fun, laid-back game to play this weekend while lounging on the couch or outside by the pool.
