God of War PC Requirements Undecided: 70 GB SSD Recommended
The system requirements for the PC version of God of War have been revealed, and it looks like players will need a powerful enough setup to get the most out of the game. To play at Ultra (4K @ 60 FPS), players will need at least an NVIDIA RTX 3080 (10GB vRAM) / AMD RX 6800 XT (16GB vRAM) and 16GB RAM.
Luckily, the install size is a reasonable 70 GB (SSD). God of War was one of the best games of the last generation of consoles, and releasing it on PC is a pretty big deal. The game is the latest of the first SIE games to hit the PC, having previously joined the likes of Days Gone and Death Stranding on Steam.
God of War PC System Requirements Revealed
Along with the list of system performance requirements, Santa Monica Studios also revealed the list of PC features, which includes support for NVIDIA DLSS as well as Reflex. God of War on PC will also support AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), so that players with AMD GPUs can enjoy the best gaming experience.
Improved graphics on the PC version include higher resolution shadows, improved screen space reflection, improved ground truth occlusion (GTAO), and directional screen space occlusion (SSDO). From the looks of it, God of War might be one of the prettiest games on PC, and hopefully the launch is relatively error-free. The release of the game is scheduled for January 14, 2022.
Santa Monica is also currently working on the sequel to 2018’s release, God of War Ragnarok, which will be the final chapter of the Norse saga. The sequel will be released around 2022, and the exact date is still unknown.
