BioProtect XS App Protection Tweak Adds Support for iOS 16 Devices
Jailbreak tweak developer Elias Limneos released a major update this week with BioProtect XS 4.6-26, which he says officially adds support for iOS 16 devices.
For those who don’t know, BioProtect XS is a comprehensive jailbreak personal security setting that allows users to block individual apps using biometrics so that they cannot be launched from the home screen without first being authenticated, be it Face ID or Touch. ID.
Currently, devices affected by the checkm8 bootrom exploit, including devices with A9-A11 chips, are the only devices that can be jailbroken on iOS and iPadOS 16 via palera1n. Therefore, these are the only devices that can take advantage of BioProtect XS in this firmware.
It’s worth noting that Face ID and passcode must be disabled on iPhone X before jailbreaking with palera1n on iOS 16, but with a jailbreak tweak called Checkl0ck by @foxfortmobile, you can artificially re-enable Face ID and use it with BioProtect XS. in the latest update.
In addition to adding support for iOS and iPadOS 16, the latest version of BioProtect XS also fixes an issue with the Face ID scan animation. However, even if you’re not using an iOS device or iPadOS 15, this update is recommended for all existing users.
BioProtect XS 4.6-26 is already available in the Limneos personal repository and will soon be added to the BigBoss repository. If you are not yet using the Limneos Personal Repository, you can add it to your package manager application of your choice using the URL below:
