Twitter wants to let users remove themselves from certain conversations
Twitter may leave the option to leave the conversation. The platform is being tested.
Have you ever found yourself drawn into a tweet because someone mentioned you there? There may be very good reasons for this action, such as the fact that someone close to you thinks you should be following this discussion, that you might be interested in it. And it could be because you are an influencer and your followers are trying to get your attention. The intention, of course, can be good, but sometimes you just don’t care. The platform will have a solution.
Twitter may leave the option to leave the conversation
In any case, it can sometimes be annoying to engage in a conversation like this, especially if the conversation is very active, in which case you may find yourself inundated with notifications on the subject. The good news is that, according to researcher Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is working on a feature that will allow users to opt out of conversations themselves.
Jane Manchun Wong shared a screenshot of the new interface on Twitter, where users must confirm that they really want to be removed from the conversation. The system then informs them that they have been successfully deleted, their username has not been identified, and they are no longer receiving notifications.

Also, to prevent people from adding them back to the conversation if someone decides to remove themselves from the conversation, the system will prevent you from being mentioned later in that particular conversation. Therefore, you will have to repeat the operation with all the conversations that you no longer want to hear about.
Since this is just a test, it’s currently impossible to know when this feature might arrive, or even if it ever will, but one thing is for sure: an option like this could be useful.
