LG has no shortage of (crazy) curved screen ideas

LG is introducing two further curved screen concepts: the Virtual Ride for an exercise bike without boredom and the Media chair.

Curved screens can be used in many products, be it phones, TVs or monitors. What if they could be used differently? This is what LG has to showcase at CES 2022. In the official press release, the brand gives us some idea of what to expect, and the least we can say is that the southern manufacturer – the Korean manufacturer – is not experiencing lack of ideas.

LG unveils two curved screen concepts

In the press release in question, LG presents two concepts. The first one is called Virtual Ride. It’s basically an exercise bike that regular use we know can get really boring, on which LG has added no less than three vertical OLED screens to form a giant screen that appears above your head. This allows you to create immersive scenarios when you start pedaling. The scenery can then change during the ride, changing the scenery, changing the weather, adding companions in the galley, etc.

And since the screen goes from floor to ceiling, with the top screen having a 500R curve, so to speak, the whole system should really make you feel like you’re outside. While you are quietly in the shelter of a room in your home.

Boredom-Free Virtual Cycling Ride and Media Chair

Another device presented by LG ahead of CES 2022 is called the Media Chair. As the name suggests, this is a chair to enjoy your favorite content, with a 55″OLED TV curved at 1500 R. As you can see in the photo above, the choice of l Screen and its curvature once again creates a certain immersion, offering you an experience very similar to what you get in a movie theater, much better quality than if you were on the couch in front of a traditional TV. The screen can even change orientation, landscape or portrait, at will.

This looks very promising. In any case, keep in mind that these two products are currently only concepts and not finished products, let alone for sale. It’s also a good way for LG to show how flexible curved screens can be used in concepts far beyond smartphones, TVs and simple computer monitors.
