Ubisoft cancels E3 2023
No E3 2023 for French publisher Ubisoft.
If event agency ReedPop has the ambition to restart E3 with a true homecoming for a 2023 edition at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the big names in the industry are refusing to take part in their turn. Following Nintendo and Microsoft, Ubisoft officially announces its non-participation in the American show, which was once known as the largest event dedicated to video games.
Ubisoft pulled out of E3 2023 weeks after announcing it would take part in the show.
Instead, the company will host its own Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12 in Los Angeles. https://t.co/1P2TFvmruH pic.twitter.com/DrcLY2W6SM

A spokesperson for Ubisoft stated:
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, hosted by ESA, has been creating unforgettable moments in the video game industry for many years. While we originally planned to be officially present at the 2023 release, we have decided to take a different direction by hosting a new Ubisoft Forward event on June 12th in Los Angeles.
What is the future of E3 2023?
Ubisoft’s decision to withdraw from E3 2023 means that three months after the event, no major publishers have been announced as officially attending. The fact that Yves Guillemot has committed in the past to the US trade show created by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) also raises serious questions about ReedPop’s programming of this new version of Electronic Entertainment Expo. Note that Sony Interactive Entertainment has not participated in E3 since 2018.
