Xiaomi 12 Lite, Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom specs leak: Snapdragon 7-series chipsets, 120Hz displays and more
Xiaomi is preparing to launch Xiaomi 12 series phones in China. The company says it will introduce Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones on December 28 in its home market. The Chinese brand usually launches a cheaper Lite variant in its Xiaomi lineup and the Xiaomi 12 series is no exception. Recently, new information appeared on the net, courtesy of Xiaomiui, which claims that the Xiaomi 12 series will also include Xiaomi 12 Lite and 12 Lite Zoom. Both of these phones will reportedly debut in March 2022.
Xiaomiui’s recent reveal reveals that the Chinese smartphone giant is working on phones codenamed Zijin and Taoyao. Taoyao is the codename for the upcoming 12 Lite, while Zijin is the codename for the purported 12 Lite Zoom.
According to information discovered by Xiaomiui, the Xiaomi 12 Lite, codenamed Taoyao, has model numbers 2203129G (G represents the global variant) and 2203129I (I represents the Indian variant). While the Mi 12 Lite Zoom will carry model number 2203129BC and will be exclusive to the Chinese market. Both of these phones have already been spotted in the IMEI database. Apart from nicknames and model numbers, the report also reveals the key features of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 series phones.
Xiaomi 12 Lite and Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom specifications leaked
The Mi 12 Lite and Mi 12 Lite Zoom are said to feature 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Mi 12 Lite series devices may offer an in-display fingerprint scanner compared to the scanner on the side on their predecessors. These phones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G or Snapdragon 780G processors and will boot MIUI 13 based on Android 12 if Xiaomiui claims are to be believed.
The Mi 12 Lite series phones are said to feature a triple rear camera setup including a Samsung ISOCELL GW3 main sensor. While the secondary lenses are expected to be super wide angle and macro lenses. However, the characteristics and resolutions of the other two sensors have not yet been disclosed.
