The IPA Ranger utility for downloading .ipa application files from the App Store has become free and open source

At the beginning of the month, we showed you a utility called IPA Ranger by iOS developer 0xkuj, which is a graphical user interface for the ipatool command line based utility that allows users to upload files. ipa of your own applications directly from the App Store. through your Apple ID.

At the time, the IPA Ranger was a paid edition, priced at $0.99; but as we knew at the time of release, the developer planned to make the package free and open source. This week it officially happened and the IPA Ranger is available for free.

IPA Ranger works by providing a user interface where users can sign in with their Apple ID, select their country, view search results, and click on the desired app to download it at their leisure. Another cool feature of IPA Ranger is that it supports app download management – ​​install, rename, share and uninstall.

It’s worth noting that IPA Ranger allows you to upload a file. ipa is only for apps you already own, which means you can’t just download apps you don’t own or share your apps with others. Instead, IPA Ranger is designed to let you back up your files. ipa for apps that may or may not be pulled from the App Store at Apple’s discretion or that you may modify through pre-load settings using utilities such as AltStore or Sideloady.

Now that IPA Ranger is free to use, anyone can use the ipatool command line interface or the IPA Ranger GUI for free. Obviously, the GUI will be the most user-friendly option, so we recommend giving it a try if you find it interesting.
