Apple Music Replay 2022 is here

Apple Music isn’t the only music streaming service to provide these general, highly personal roundups of the most popular music throughout the year.

According to an announcement in Apple Newsroom, this year’s Replay interface has been redesigned to be not only prettier but also more useful, providing a deeper dive into your music listening habits than ever before.

In addition to listing your most popular artists, songs, music videos, and playlists for 2022, this year’s Apple Music Replay includes two new features. The first one will highlight any artists you may have unlocked before they exploded. The other defines your musical atmosphere and personality.

Privacy is maintained because Apple states that it will never share your ideas or use them in any marketing materials. “The user can share their thoughts as they wish, if they want,” Apple assures us. “No other Apple Music subscribers or employees can access their information outside of their chosen snaps at any time.”

How to get Apple Music Replay 2022

You can see banners for Apple Music Replay 2022 in the Music app’s Overview tab, but you’ll need to visit the Apple Music website to get your annual overview.

Open replay.music.apple.com in your browser and click the “Sign in”button in the upper right corner. You will need to authorize the web app to use your Apple Music account with the same Apple ID that you use for Apple Music.

By doing this, you will be presented with your year in music. You can view your yearly personal playlists on the website and add them to your Apple Music account so they show up on all your devices.

You must listen to enough music so that Apple Music Replay has enough data to work. You can evaluate your skill with a personalized progress bar on the Apple Music Replay website. “The acceptability of both playlist and analytics happens at the same listening threshold,” the company explains.

Apple Music has also released its annual charts that highlight the platform’s top songs, top Shazamz, top fitness songs, and most read lyrics for 2022.

“Dipping into the charts, music lovers will notice the growing presence of non-English songs, the rise of once-niche genres, and a number of exciting breakthrough artists coming into the spotlight for the first time,” Apple notes.

To view these year-end charts, go to the Overview tab in the Music app. Apple previously announced that Ted Bunny has been named Apple Music Artist of the Year for 2022.

Spotify Wrapped is a similar deep dive into “the music and podcasts that defined your 2022.”Spotify Wrapped 2022 is coming soon sometime in December and will be available at spotify.com/wrapped.

Spotify has been posting its annual music roundup for longer than Apple Music. Spotify Wrapped has become something of a tradition for Spotify as well as a great marketing tool as these colorful snippets take over social media for days.

How about YouTube Music Recap?

Google is jumping on the music year bandwagon with YouTube Music Recap 2022, available for the first time on the main YouTube app.

According to the official YouTube blog, simply search for “2022 Wrap-up”in the main YouTube app to display a wrap-up playlist. You can also click the stories banner to view related stories.

For a YouTube Music 2022 recap, launch the YouTube Music app and scroll to see your personalized stats such as top artists, songs, music videos, playlists and more for 2022 in the form of shared cards.
