OnePlus 10 Pro adds LTPO 2.0 display, CEO confirms

The OnePlus 10 Pro release was confirmed in January 2022 and its CEO Pete Lau confirmed the same. Now, the CEO has also confirmed the exact display panel model of the upcoming smartphone. According to Lau, the upcoming OnePlus flagship will have an LTPO 2.0 display panel. The next generation LTPO panel is also expected to offer variable refresh rates up to 120Hz on the OnePlus 10 Pro, alongside the standard version of the smartphone.

The OnePlus 10 Pro should be the follow-up to the OnePlus 9 Pro, which featured typically flagship specs – along with a Hasselblad collaboration for the first time. When announced, the company announced that it would be a long-term strategic collaboration between itself and Hasselblad. In the first year of the collaboration, Hasselblad participated in tweaking the color tones on their flagship phones. Now in its second year of existence, it remains to be seen how the partnership develops in terms of camera offerings.

While the latter has yet to be confirmed, the LTPO 2.0 panel is now a must-have on the OnePlus 10 Pro. At the moment it is not clear what exactly LTPO 2.0 has to offer. Lau said the new panel will provide even better display fluidity and could also offer advantages in color accuracy, brightness, dimming and efficiency. LTPO OLED panels already offer a variety of refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, and the LTPO 2.0 panel could improve that as well.

Other OnePlus 10 Pro specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main unit, a 50MP ultra-wide unit, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The display size is 6.7 inches and on the power side, the flagship device offers a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Other key specs are also likely to include Android 12 with a custom OxygenOS interface at the top.
