WhatsApp’s latest beta introduces message reactions
WhatsApp is introducing message reactions in its latest beta.
Among the many features that Facebook has introduced over the past few years is “reactions”. It allows users to easily and quickly respond to messages and comments with simple emoticons. In some cases, such a reaction is preferable to a text response, in particular because it allows you not to “pollut”the discussion. The American giant later moved the feature to Instagram DMs and Messenger. Today it seems to be WhatsApp’s turn to take advantage of this.
WhatsApp introduces reactions to messages
Indeed, according to a report from WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta finally has reactions. We have already heard from several rumors that the company is working on this feature. So development seems advanced enough today for the feature to be offered in beta and for the first group of users to properly test it.
Today, no one knows exactly when WhatsApp will roll out this feature to all users, but since it’s in beta, it shouldn’t be too long. These reactions are very similar to Facebook reactions: users simply tap and hold on a post to open a list of available reactions. Then just click on the reaction you want to give.
In the latest beta
Currently in beta, some of the suggested reactions include a heart emoji, a thumbs up emoji, a laugh emoji, a shocked face emoji, a crying emoji, and two hands only (some see it as a high-five gesture). ”, others are a gesture of prayer).
In any case, if you’ve been waiting for the ability to use reactions to reply to messages from your loved ones on WhatsApp, it will soon be possible. A little more patience.
