Vivo has launched a new V series smartphone. The company has announced the Vivo V23e 5G as its new sub-$400 smartphone. The V23e sits below the vanilla V23 and V23 Pro that launched earlier this year.

The V23e features a waterdrop notch display. It has an AMOLED screen with thin bezels around it. However, the phone has a thick chin. The smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek 5G processor. Vivo launched the V23e with one 8GB + 128GB storage option. The cost of the device is $400. It is available in two colors – Sunrise Gold and Midnight Blue.

Specifications and features

Vivo V23e is equipped with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display. The screen has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It also has a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which is lower than most smartphones in the price range that offer a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate display.

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. The phone is paired with 8GB of RAM. It also supports 4GB of virtual RAM, which is consumed from the device’s 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone has a thickness of about 7.32 mm and weighs 172 grams. It packs a 4050mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging out of the box. The rectangular camera block on the back features a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera sensor. It has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP tertiary sensor. For selfies, there is a 44 MP front camera sensor.

The Vivo smartphone runs Android 12 out of the box. It has a Funtouch OS 12 layer on top of Android. It comes with support for Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi, GPS, 4G VoLTE, 5G, USB Type-C, etc. The smartphone has an in-display fingerprint scanner and support for AI face unlock.
