Vlogoscope, Greg 2.0, Finish’d and more to try this weekend.
Welcome to the new edition of our Apps of the Week review, where we take a look at our favorite apps we’ve recently discovered. This week we have a funny video maker app, artificial intelligence plant id and an app that will really help you get things done. And, as always, we have chosen a new fun game for you.
Vlogoscope
Here is an elegant and unique idea. Vlogoscope is an app that allows you to record split screen videos for Google Maps. I know this won’t be groundbreaking for many people, but for creative people who want to record videos and tell stories about their favorite places and attractions, this seems like a fun way to do it.
Plant ID and care – Greg
We wrote about this app last year, even though back then it was just called Greg. I’m usually against including previously included apps here, even for major updates, but Greg has a new feature that essentially makes him a completely different app: PlatVision. This is an artificial intelligence technology that will allow you to scan any plant and it will identify the species, tell you everything about it, measure the pot and even the distance to the nearest window. Wow, my thumb turns green as soon as I think about it.

At first glance at the name and icon, you might think that this is just another to-do list app, but you’re wrong. Finish’d is about getting other people to take care of your tasks. So it’s not for you, but for them. Either way, the app connects you to a wide range of local and global service providers who specialize in what you need. Taxes? Yard work? Wait in line for something? There are over 6000 categories to choose from and you can also join as a service provider.
Vampire Survivors
And finally, if you just want to kick back, kick back, and kill zombies this weekend, check out Vampire Survivors. This is a time survival RPG in which you have to test your strength against the legions of hell. Choose your favorite character, upgrade your skills and weapons, and fight hordes of enemies. Don’t let the screenshots fool you – whatever it lacks in this game, it more than makes up for in gameplay and features.
