SuperGaming Reveals Indus Map Details, Anti-Cheat, Battle Pass and More
Map of the Indus and Virlok
The planet Indus, according to legend, is a mystery to most space civilizations and contains a collection of untouched, unexplored and ever-changing islands. The reason the Indus is important to the galaxy is because the planet has limitless deposits of a valuable substance called cosmium.
The game will mainly take place on an ever-changing island map called Virlok. From the sound of it, the map will be transforming regularly, likely to coincide with new seasons and content drops.
Battle Pass
The developers have confirmed that the game will indeed feature the Battle Pass progression mechanic. This is typical of most free-to-play battle royale games such as Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone and many more.
The developers also shared the process of developing art for the game on their social networks.
Anti-cheat and game engine
An important aspect of shooters, especially battle royales, is the inclusion of a robust anti-cheat system. The developers shared that the game will strive for a level playing field, using various methods to deal with cheats.
Indus runs on Unity as the core engine with a custom built sandbox shooter tech stack called the Indus Engine. SuperGaming has been known to use proprietary technologies for game engines, such as the popular mobile FPS MaskGun which uses the June engine.
Weapons and gameplay
Weapons are the backbone of the battle royale game, according to the developers, and according to the developers, Indus will have a wide variety of them. The game will include, among other things, assault rifles, hand cannons and even snipers.
The developers have shared an early concept art of one of the sniper rifles in the game called Ashvini. The developers will regularly share additional information about weapons, gameplay, etc. on their official Discord server.
From a perspective perspective, the Indus currently only has a first-person view. Although SuperGaming have hinted at the inclusion of a third-person perspective in the future. In addition, the developers revealed that there is also an Indus Creators Program, designed to encourage content creators and gamers to release content from the game.
