Redmi has quietly released a new budget smartphone under its own numbered line. The company has launched the 2022 Redmi 10 to global markets. The phone has the same specs as the Redmi 10 launched in August 2021. It has a polycarbonate body and is available in multiple color options. The budget smartphone has 4G VoLTE network support. It comes with a high refresh rate display and quad cameras. The device may hit the markets with a new name. However, Redmi is already selling the Redmi 10 Prime with more or less the same specs. Redmi 10 2022 Launched

Redmi 10 2022 has been released in two storage options. The base variant has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a 4GB + 128GB option. However, pricing details are currently under wraps. The phone is available in three colors: Pebble White, Carbon Grey, and Sea Blue.

Specifications and features

The Redmi 10 budget smartphone features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a cutout in the top center for the front camera. The device is equipped with a display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, as well as a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

On the back, there is a quad-camera setup. The phone has a 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera also features an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera sensor and two 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography.

For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone also packs a powerful 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and 9W reverse charging. Xiaomi comes with a 22.5W fast charger. The phone weighs 181 grams and measures 161.95 x 75.53 x 8.92mm.

It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC which supports 4G VoLTE rather than 5G. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and supports AI face unlock. It runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.
