Vivo has launched a new 5G smartphone. The company introduced the Y74s 5G in China. It sits below the recently launched Y76s 5G, which was also launched earlier this month in the company’s home country. The Y74s 5G is a mid-range offering. It has a fairly similar design to the Y76s 5G. There is a dual camera on the back of the phone. There is a water drop notch at the top of the display. Vivo Y74s 5G released in China comes with one 8GB + 256GB storage configuration. It was launched for 2299 yuan. The phone is available in two colors – blue and black.

Specifications and Features

The new Vivo Y series smartphone features a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display. It has a water cutout at the top for the 8MP front camera. Thanks to the rather thin bezels around the display, the screen-to-body ratio is 90.6 percent. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. The phone has one 8GB RAM option with support for 4GB virtual RAM. It has 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. The phone packs a mid-sized 4,100mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging via USB Type-C.

On the back of the phone, there is a dual camera setup with a 50MP main camera sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. It has features such as night mode, portrait mode, 1080p video recording, etc. The device has connectivity features such as dual SIM, 5G, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack and etc. Its thickness is 7.79mm.
