Fugu15 Max Second Public Beta Released with Bug Fixes and Improvements

The first public beta of the Fugu15 Max jailbreak for arm64e (A12+) devices running iOS and iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 took place this week after it was originally leaked from a semi-private developer beta.

Now it looks like a second public beta has been released, first announced late last night by project lead developer opa334 as shown above.

Fugu15 Max is the working title of a jailbreak based heavily on the rootless Fugu15 jailbreak tool by Linus Henze. The Henze build was incomplete, lacked support for tweaks, and left a lot of bugs that needed to be fixed before normal users could take advantage of it.

According to the changelog of Fugu15 Max Second Public Beta, we can conclude that the latest build made the following changes:

Changelog:

– Fix system hang on jailbreakd crash or restart – Make system-wide hook easier (thanks @Cryptiiiic) – Fix bootstrap error when /var/jbsymlink points to nowhere

Obviously, the Fugu15 Max is still developer-only for now, despite offering support for tweaking and fixing the dreaded Wi-Fi bug. However, while you can try it even if you’re not a developer, opa334 won’t offer support if you’re not, so we recommend waiting for the final release.

Despite this, the second Fugu15 Max is available on the developer’s GitHub page and can be signed using the TrollStore utility, which is also the responsibility of opa334.
