Google Pixel 6a launch confirmed; Pixel 7 with Android 13 teased at Google I/O 2022
Google announced the Pixel 7 series at Google I/O 2022. The company announced the new features of Android 13 as well as some key improvements and features coming to other Google apps. At the developer event, the company also unveiled the Google Pixel 6a. Google has confirmed that the Pixel 6a will launch later this year.
Along with this, the company teased the launch of the Pixel 7 series. The company also revealed the design of the upcoming Pixel 7 series ahead of the launch. Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series specs, price, and other details confirmed so far.
Google Pixel 6a Price and Specs
Google launched the Pixel 6a in the US with one storage option. The Google smartphone has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Its price is 449 dollars. The Pixel 6a is available in three colors: black, mint green, and grey.
Google has confirmed that the Pixel 6a will launch later this year. However, the launch date remains unknown. Pixel 6a price will be announced at a later date.
The Pixel 6a features a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a 60Hz refresh rate and has a notch in the top center. The phone has an 8MP front camera. The back of the Pixel 6a has a horizontal camera strip that runs all the way across the back. It has a 12.2MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. It comes with features like Magic Eraser, Real Tone and Face Unblur.
The Pixel 6a runs Android 12 out of the box. It is powered by the Tensor chip and comes with a 4300mAh battery. The phone also supports fast charging, but Google doesn’t reveal the exact charging speed. The Pixel 6a will get three major Android updates and five years of security support.
Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro teased
Google also teased the launch of the Pixel 7 series at the Android 13 event. The two smartphones will still feature a wide camera strip on the back. The Pixel 7 Pro will have a triple camera, while the Pixel 7 will have a dual camera. Both phones will ship with a glass back.
The devices will also run Android 13 out of the box. In addition to this, Google has confirmed that the devices will be powered by the next generation Tensor chip. Details about the new chip will be announced in the fall at the presentation of the Pixel 7.
The Pixel 7 Pro is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, while the Pixel 7 will feature a 6.3-inch 90Hz display. Both phones will come with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The Pro model will get an additional 48MP telephoto lens.
