Star Wars: Amandla Stenberg to star in Acolyte

Amandla Stenberg will play the lead character in The Acolyte, the next Star Wars series from Disney+.

Created by Leslie Headland (Sleeping with Other People, Russian Doll, The Bachelor) and running for two years, The Acolyte is a thriller that takes viewers into a galaxy of dark mysteries and emerging dark side forces in the last days. American actress Amandla Stenberg is the first known name of the cast. She received critical acclaim for her lead role in The Hate You Give and recently starred in Universal Pictures’ adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen. Star Wars: The Assistant will premiere in late 2023 on the Disney+ streaming platform.
